Sagen Report

I know I haven't posted about anything personal for quite a while, so I'll try to do a little catch up!

We still love life in the Tri Cities! It has been so warm and beautful here this spring! It's been wave after wave of beautful flowers! Now there are roses everywhere! Some of the tallest rose bushes I've ever seen! Probably 12 to 15 feet high! Every color and type you can think of! And they don't seem to require any skill to grow at all! They are all over the place!

We planted a garden with our family here and it's growing beautfuly! We already have some green tomatoes on one of our plants! I started a little herb garden here at the house and it's growing like crazy! I've got cilantro coming out of my ears!

We've been exploring the parks here and just love one in Richland, down by the Columbia River. There are tons and tons of shade trees and picnic tables, a very fun playground and a little bit of beach so you can get in the water and play. We went last weekend and took the yummiest picnic! We'd never thought to do it before, but chicken buritoes make great picnic food! It was so easy and super yummy! The kids had so much fun in the sand! Megan and Katie joined us after a bit, and it felt so great to be by the cool water! The temp. that weekend had been almost 100 degrees!

I'm about 24 weeks pregnant now and still haven't had my ultra sound, so we still don't know what we're having yet! Well, we're pretty sure it's a baby, but beyond that it's all up in the air! I've had a hard time finding a Dr's office that I like.
The first Dr's office was too impersonal- you never got to see the same Dr. or nurse, and whatever Dr. was on call would be the one to deliver your baby. I thought I could live with it, but it was just too much!
The second Dr. was highly recomended by a nurse at the hospital, but I found out that must be because that's where he always is- at the hospital! He cancelled two apointments in a row, and his office didn't even call to tell us. Apparently it was our job not only to make the apointment, but also to find out whether or not the doctor would be there for the apointment. Grrr.
So that brings us to Dr. number three, he has just one partner at his office, not twelve like the first practice, and his office told me they would send me an informational packet before my first visit, which is way more organization than I ever saw at the second office! I'm praying that this will be my final switch! This has been ridiculous!

We've had to do some re-organizing of the house to make room for the baby and to be better organized. We've seperated out now into a girl's room and a boy's room, and taken the larger room for James and I so there will be room for the crib in with us. We've moved Lauren into her big girl bed and she's done very well! It was a very bitter sweet moment for me the first night all the kids were asleep in their new seperate rooms! I was proud and sad that they handled the change so well! They all seem to be happier having their own space!

We had tons of fun when our friends Joe and Rachel came from Hamilton to visit us! Some of us were fighting a nasty flu type bug when they came, but that was the only thing to put a damper on our fun! We were so glad to see them and did our best to convince them they should move! I'm not sure how well that worked, but you can't blame us for trying!

Kelsie is coming to the end of her first grade year! It's been really rough for her moving in the middle of the school year, and trying to catch up with the different teaching style and expectations here, but she really loves her teacher, and she's done so well! The first grade put on a program for the parents last week called 'Dino-stars' and it was super cute! It was so fun to walk there and back as a family, and Jeff and Megan were able to come as well!

The kids continue growing and enjoying their usual interests. Griffin is still super lego and transformer obsessed, Kelsie is always busy putting my jewlery on her stuffed animal pets, and using any long belt or strap she can find as a leash. Lauren is learing new words all the time, and is alphabet obsessed! She can name pretty much every letter and it's sound and will point out letters on clothing or on signs.

Our plans for summer are pretty simple. We're planning on visiting Montana, and there will be a couple of trips to Spokane. I'm hoping we can get to the ocean sometime, but work is supposed to be very busy for James, and I don't know if he'll be able to spare the vacation days. Oh yeah, and there's also the matter of my expanding middle complicating travel and such! But if any of you are in the area in your summer travels, let us know! We'd love to see you!

So who is due first you or Brooke? Congratulations! Drs. can be so frustrating, but it will be worth it if you get a good one.

I think I recognize that park by the Columbia river. That's where I hung out with Joseph while waiting for Ben during his interview and it basically convinced me that I would love to live in the tri-cities area. I'm glad you liked it too. Good luck with the Dr.s. Third times the charm right?

Love the updates Tara. Ryan sometimes has to go to Seattle for work. Is that anywhere near you? (I'm embarrassed I don't know).
