Spring Break

Spring break was so nice! I didn't want to send the kids back to school. We didn't do anything too grand, we just had some friends over and spent time being together. Then on Friday we decided to take a road trip. We followed the Columbia river down to Maryville, and visited the Stonehenge monument there, and then we kept driving till we were nearly to Portland, and visited the waterfalls. It was a long trip for one day of driving, but it was so beautiful that none of us minded. There were so many great things to show the kids and talk about on the drive too. Neat geography, the dams, the windmills, the vinyards and orchards, barges on the river... greatly interesting and educational, the way all family roadtrips should be. James planned the trip and I'm so glad that he did!

Tara,

I totally picture you being like your Dad: giving out random information about different flowers, animals, rock formations, etc. I swear your Dad is so full of knowledge. I know the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Lucky kids!~

Beautiful! The Pacific Northwest is the most beautiful place in the world . . . in my humble opinion. And it sounds like you had a great family adventure.
