I was suprised that the number of people in attendance never became overwhelming.
The reunion was not with out injuries though! Lisa's son split his lip while target shooting, Sabrina's little guy has a spiral fracture in his ankle as a result of jamming his leg while on the slide, and Kara's daughter got the very worst of it when she was burned by a roman candle that fell over and shot into the crowd.
WE had an auction to help raise money to cover reunion costs. It was tons of fun! The item that went for the most money was a really cool digitally enhanced picture that Jason took of Grampa's old shed with his tractor and milk cans in front of it. The next higest priced item was a set of aprons. The first on said, 'I rule the roost', the other said, 'I rule the rooster'. They were pretty cute. Rob and Lisa got those. I won two family history photos. The one that I was most interested it was of Shepherd Pierce Hutchings. I've always heard that there were great stories about him, but I've learned some more just by Googling his name. I might do a whole post about him. And I'm excited to learn more.

looks like a great reunion! i love reunions!
Thank you Tara for posting those pictures of the reunion! They were great! Just so you know, Joseph got his cast off about a week ago and is doing great. Thanks for remembering him. DO you know how Kara's little girl is doing?
So I copied your idea of googling Shepherd Pierce Hutchings to see what I could find. It was really cool to see what was there!
tara, wish i had your email. thank you so much for your sweet comment. i too have been thinking of you the past week. when you wrote about how rotten you felt, i thought the same thing. if tara feels rotten too, it must mean i'm okay? i was telling courtney the other day how much i always admired you. your wisdom, your strength, and goodness. i told him how i always loved you because anything that ever came out of your mouth, was so wise and well thought out, unlike me who blurts out something and then has to think, "why did i say that?" i often think how i wish i had that special tara talent. i'm glad to know your week is going better. i sure would love a weekend getaway with you c-6 girls. wouldn't that be the best of reunions? anyway, hope the sun is shining in your neck of the woods. (literally AND figuratively.) all my love. kelly
Thanks for posting the pictures of the reunion. Those were the only ones I have been able to see so far.
Boy am I a blog slacker. I don't know what it is about this new baby, but I don't check blogs nearly as often! Love the pics! What a fun time!
