Kelsie's 100th Day!

Today marks Kelsie's 100th day of Kindergarten! They are having a special party to celebrate the occasion, and they were asked to bring 100 of anything they wanted to collect and count. Kelsie and I decided to make 100 mini chocolate chip cookies!

I thought Anna of Cookie Madness would be very proud. The sad part is, they won't allow the kids to have homemade treats, so she can't even share them with her friends! I guess it's a good thing we're cookie fans at the Sagen house!

Yum! I wish I could help take those off of your hands! Hey, try this recipe. Go to www.verybestbaking.com and search for "choc-oat-chip" cookies. Then use half the butter (don't replace it with applesauce, just leave it out) and add a 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and don't use any of the white sugar and use raisins instead of choc chips. They are really good and way better for you than the original recipe and they don't have the "healthy cookie" taste because you don't use the applesauce.

Wow. YOu are a good mom. I just had them collect a hundred twigs or something like that to count.
You can freeze the cookies really well. Just pop them in the microwave for a few seconds before you eat them, and they taste freshly baked!

We probably would have made it a point to come visit if we'd known there would be so many cookies at your house. Kelse is lucky to have a mom willing to bake so many cookies. My children will probably end up going with beans, or maybe jelly beans, or grains of rice... ok, maybe I'll make cookies. but it's only because you've shown me it can be done.
