Lauren's Birthday

Well. It happened a while ago, but Miss Lauren, contrary to her side bar photo, is now two years old! And what a two year old she is! Her current obsessions (besides getting into all the trouble she can manage) are the alphabet, stars, and bubbles so that's what I tried to theme her party around.

We did a very simple ice-cream cake. It was so dreadfully hot here, there was no way I was turning on an oven! It was too hot to even do the party at a park. It was air conditioning or die!

Our dinner choice was affected by the heat as well. Usually we love Papa Murphy's, but like I said, no oven allowed in 100+ weather, so we broke with tradition and got Papa John's. Lauren loved it!

Lots of ABC books, her own princess table, bubbles, a dress up skirt and star wand, and lots of family, made it a wonderful birthday party!

Our Lauren is an amazing little girl. She loves to be loved, and just soaks up all the hugs and cuddles we can give her! She gets so excited when the kids get home from school, and can't wait to get her hugs from them! She loves all things creative. Music, drawing, and dancing all light her up! Although not all of her speech is clear, she can identify all of the letters of the alphabet, and gets very excited about doing so! At bedtime she has to be sung Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, I am a Child of God, and ABC's, the Super Why version. She loves pretending to be a puppy with her sister and brother, and loves our dog Lilly, although the relationship is somewhat strained by Lauren's unpredictable style of play.

Happy belated birthday to Lauren! I hear you though on the NO OVEN on 100+ degree weather. I am certainly looking forward to the cool fall weather that is suppose to be here soon. So I see that your due date is in two weeks! Good luck with lasting till then and with the delivery. I just now that I'm ready for my baby to come right now, so I can imagine how you're feeling right. I hope we can see and your family soon.
